New Pattern: Argyle Cables Socks

Argyle Cables Socks
These Argyle Cables socks were a design that were first published in Simply Knitting Magazine, and were one of my favourite knits to both make and wear. Knitted in 6-Ply Regia yarn, they knit up extremely quickly considering the amount of detail that exists in those sumptuous bouncy cables.

The 1×1 rib that tops each sock provides a stretchy cuff to cling to the leg and prevent those warm socks from falling down, keeping you nice and cosy, and they look fantastic with jeans and boots, but also extremely cute and quirky with a nice skirt and natural fibres or neutral colours.

Diamond argyle knit in the form of cablesThe cushioned flap & gusset heel that these socks feature ensure a nice padded and hard-wearing fitting sock, which if knitted in the warm 6-ply wool with nylon yarn recommended will mean that your socks will last you through many cold winters. The cables, though squishy and soft, are not bulky. The side cabling lays very flat, and the main argyle patterning features very few crossover points to keep these socks wonderfully comfortable.
