This is the Emerald City cowl, a new pattern published just in time to keep away those winter chills. It is such a quick and enjoyable knit that you can whip up quite a few in time for Christmas without having to turn to the sherry too early.
One of the best things about this pattern is that is perfect for those special hand painted and variegated yarns that you have been saving for something special but yet still don’t quite know what to do with. The stitch pattern highlights various little elements of the yarn and brings them up and out of the regular knitted surface.
To make the cowl even more special, ribbons, i-cord, other types of cord and even longer length necklaces can be threaded through the pairs of highlight stitches. Though this is entirely optional it also provides an alternative way to wear the cowl as the ribbons or cords can be used as drawstrings to gather the cowl even closer to the neck to keep away even the most insistent chills.
The Emerald City Cowl can be purchased below or bought via Ravelry. If you visit the Ravelry Page for the Emerald City Cowl you’ll also be treated to the a bonus picture which should make you giggle…
